I have been a commercial artist/cartoonist for more than fifty years. Started drawing and selling spot cartoons to magazine publishers in NYC around 1963.
I moved my business up to the Catskill Mountains in NY State in 1971 and spent the next twenty years as a working artist illustrating mostly juvenile literature, comics and activity books. I also became a NY State Certified Vocational Commercial Art Instructor (Level II) and taught painting and drawing skills to adults and youngsters from grade school to community college courses.

I moved to the Sunshine State in 1991 and have been happily sketching away at different publication projects ever since.
My wife, Cathy, and I have adopted Florida as our home state and today, I concentrate on writing and illustrating weekly strips about my favorite Florida couple, Ben & Buffy Byrd!
Doing 'toons for more than a half century!
I opened up my first actual commercial art studio in 1969. Located on the ninth floor at 1170 Broadway in mid-town Manhattan. Mostly, I wrote and illustrated advertising and promotional literature for the garment trade and the travel industry.
During those early days, I worked out of a two room apartment/studio on Thompson Street in New York's Greenwich Village.
